Third Party Event

14 Oct 2019 - 16 Oct 2019

Nigeria Mining Week, the flagship mining conference and expo in West Africa, will return to Abuja on 14-16 October 2019 following its tremendous success in previous years. “This is not only a landmark achievement but an encouragement for the mining sector,” Alh. Sani Shehu, the President of the Miners Association of Nigeria (MAN), said about Nigeria Mining Week. He adds, “The participation of about 14 nations is an illustration of the desire of global players, service providers and technology providers to go beyond their shores and tap into the mineral-rich soil of Nigeria.”
Improvement in Brand Nigeria
Mines and Steel Development Minister Dr.Kayode Fayemi said during his opening keynote address that according to a recent World Risk Report, Nigeria had made remarkable improvements in both hard risk and perceived risk factors. He stated, “The Nigerian mining jurisdiction is now considered to have a better investment risk profile than Russia, China, India and several other leading jurisdictions. Nigeria is now perceived to have a better investment risk profile than New York!”
The event will again receive the strategic support of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, MAN and PwC. Cyril Azobu is Advisory Partner and Mining Leader at PwC Nigeria, and says, “Any individual or organisation interested in exploring the many opportunities Nigeria’s solid minerals sector presents should plan to be at Nigeria Mining Week 2019.”
Strategic platform for the mineral sector
Nigeria Mining Week offers a one-stop-shop to engage directly with policymakers, financiers and mining investors, as well as the opportunity to gain access to the most current geophysical data on the resources available to explore in Nigeria. The third annual event will provide a platform to engage with over 700 small-scale miners through MAN, 10 Nigerian states displaying and promoting opportunities in small- and medium-scale mining, and over 100 mining and exploration companies.
Features of this year’s Nigeria Mining Week include:

  • A three-day conference focusing on strategic minerals
  • Exclusive indoor and outdoor exhibitions featuring over 40 Nigerian and international suppliers
