Under the Auspices of H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications & Information Technology, and in Strategic Partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the fifth annual IDC Egypt CIO Summit 2019 is taking place at Marriot Zamalek on 18 June 2019.
Digital transformation (DX) will continue to dramatically reshape the global economy as the next phase of 3rd Platform technology rollouts hit full stride. If the first phase was about experimentation and siloed innovation, the next chapter will be characterized by multiplied innovation and autonomy as platform wars intensify and data is increasingly used for competitive advantage.
Beyond 2022, we will see large-scale automation with ubiquitous AI and robotics, the emergence of digital twins on a massive scale, and exponential change in the competitive landscape. A new “IT world order” is on the horizon, built around changing technologies, new offerings, evolving business models, and emerging DX use cases. New IT industry power positions are coming to the fore and ICT vendor leadership ranks are being disrupted.
Against this backdrop, CIOs and other CxOs will need to constantly calibrate and chart their own course of digital innovation, breaking the digital deadlock by developing new digital capabilities, performance metrics, and organization structures.
