A recent report by the United Nations shows that by the year 2050, almost 60-65% of the population will be in cities, and cities are where economic activity is generated. Cities must be flexible; they must be adaptable. A smart city is one that leverages on technology to deliver its infrastructure and urban services so that the city can compete effectively, and at the same time offer sustainable living conditions for its residents.
